Creativity and innovation have always been the hallmarks of architectural design. Beautiful, unique, well-performing and functional designs are the ultimate goal of all design projects. Nowhere is this truer than layout design (designing homes?), where every single decision impacts cost, performance, and occupant experience. However, generating a large variety of such designs is not without difficulties: - it requires highly trained professionals with expertise across a variety of design software - it is often time-consuming and costly, especially when iterating over ideas - it happens within tight project timelines, with little time for design exploration - it requires embedding a number of different design constraints and performance goals What if there was a simple but powerful way to create a large number of diverse designs, evaluate them in real time, populate them with assets, and visualize them in 3D, all within your browser? What if we could democratize the design process and allow everyone to ideate, explore, and create? And what if we could do all that with language?
This is exactly what we aim to enable with architext, and really what we envision as the future of design. An accessible, cost-efficient, effective, and transparent design workflow that anyone can use, for a variety of different downstream use cases. We believe that semantic generation, using language to design, will usher a new generation of design workflows and architext aims to be at the forefront of all that.
Of course we understand that even though having the means to easily create a diverse collection of designs is incredibly powerful, it is only a part of the design process. We also need to be able to evaluate those designs across a wide range of metrics (cost, carbon footprint, natural ventilation, visual and thermal comfort). Using ML models, Architext is able to do that in real time, without the use of specialized simulation software or expert engineers, and without the cost that comes with that.
This allows architext to enable and end-to-end design workflow that is able to ideate, explore, evaluate and generate diverse collections of well-performing designs for different project constraints and goals. All with the use of language.
